Transcript of First Visit to the Veterinarian
This next video episode is my First Visit to the Veterinarian. This was my first week at home and my parents took me for a checkup after rescuing me from doggy jail. Here’s the vet looking me over. The first thing they wanted to know is figure out how old I was. They do that by looking at the teeth. The front ones were adult. The ones on the side, the canines, were the last ones to come in and those were still my baby teeth, so the vet says “He’s 5 months old”.
Then he started looking at other body parts. I can’t tell ya how many times he said “Wow! What long legs he has!”. He poked and prodded… felt my belly… felt my rear end… felt my legs. Then, oh what a surprise! It was time to have my temperature taken. I’m standing, waiting, ready to say “Ahhhh” when “Whoooop!” Now I didn’t expect that!
Anyway, he picked me up and tested my back legs and front legs, and wanted to see how fast I could run I guess. Anyhow, all in all after he had looked at all these things he said I was in very good health. As far as my coat it wasn’t hair. It was fur, so to keep me neat and clean I probably need to go to the groomers every month or two.
One of the last things he checked was my tattoo. Yes, I have a jailhouse tattoo from being in doggy jail, but I also had my jewels stolen while I was there, so the veterinarian was inspecting that! Can you imagine? Just 5 months old and I had a jailhouse record and a tattoo!
Next he checked my heart and lungs with a stethoscope. And then finally, he had to check my eyeballs and ears. (pause) He looked through an instrument. (pause) Saw my ears, and then he pulled out a different instrument and looked at my eyeballs. Everything looked pretty good to him because when he was done poking and prodding (and taking my temperature) he said “You don’t have to come back for one whole year”. Well, I tell you what. They didn’t have to tell me that twice. I was outta there! Thanks for watching my visit to the vet.
